Drawing on our experience as a singular experience, here’s a list of things you should know before becoming a detective

What happens during a Chicago Murder Mystery Tour? A Murder Mystery Tour is a real-world adventure that takes place during a walking tour. You’re handed a case file to solve by interacting with the space, suspects, and clues you find as you explore the city with a professional mystery guide.

Detective skills are tested as we navigate through the city, look for clues, testimonies, and interrogate suspects. We designed this game for people who enjoy having fun with friends, solving mysteries, and wish to see Chicago in a completely unique way. In other words, this tour is for everyone!

Here are some things you may want to do before you arrive:

  1. Dress for the weather: Murder Mystery tour involves walking for its duration. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. Depending on the time of year, you may also wish to incorporate elements of a costume into your outfit!
  2. Arrive ready to play: Even more important than the right shoes is the right attitude. This is a fun, interactive, playful experience.

How do you solve the case?

  1. Ask the right questions: Good detective work gets to the most important answers. Where were they during the murder, who can vouch for them, did they have a motive to kill this person? This will help dwindle the potential suspects.
  1. Look for clues in everything: Clues can be hidden in plain sight. Even seemingly insignificant remarks hold valuable clues that will crack the case.
  1. Collaborate: Working as a group will always lead to pooling findings, observations, and leads.

Lastly, most importantly, is to stay calm and have fun! Solving a mystery can be exhilarating, but make sure to have fun and do good detective work. Don’t stress if you hit a dead end, or the solution seems evasive. Enjoy the journey, and it’ll be sure to be a memorable experience!
